Bought second trap
Loaned the trap to my mother cause it works so good I’m not getting it back
Pre-baiting works
I pre-baited my planned trap location for a few days prior to the arrival of the repeater trap. The location became crowded with sparrows, and I was excited to receive the trap. Trap arrived two days ago and I’ve already caught 19! I can’t believe how well this worked. My native birds send their thanks.
I have caught 86 so far.
Most was today—10 in the trap. You may be on to something. My Martins are happy!
Up to 26, still no bait in the trap.
Up to 26, still no bait in the trap. Will need to move it to a new dust bathing spot because the butternut squash vines are covering the bare ground.
Amazing product!
Amazing product, averaging 6-8 per day, everyday. I put a basket, feeder on a shepherd hook, above the trap .
Sparrows were waiting in line for their chance at millet.
Thank You for a Wonderful Product!
Hello Blaine,
I just wanted to give you an update on my sparrow-trapping, and you can use this as a review to the public.
I have trapped 32 house sparrows so far this summer, destroyed four sparrow nests, and crushed seven eggs.
I have depleted the flock to the point that I now have a house wren building in one of the bluebird houses, and that is fine with me!
I also have a pair of bluebirds sitting on the telephone line in my front yard. I know that these are all evidence of natives moving in, once the non-natives have been removed.
If anyone wonders about putting the sparrows down, I used the mesh bag method (slamming them on the concrete). If anyone is squeamish like I was about killing, I assure them that it is really not that bad.
The first one was the worst, but after that it was not a big deal. It actually built my confidence and made me feel like a better conservationist. If I can do it, anyone can!
Thank you for a wonderful product!
Sparrow trap
Hi, have had your trap for about month now i am so pleased and so happy with this trap … i have had problem sparrows for few years and within days i had 5 then for while nothing ..i removed trap and baited area for about week then placed it back and have trapped 8 in last 2 days … thank you so much for product and my days are so much more peaceful ..and the robins and other finches have returned to my feeders now . I am amazed that it doesnt catch other birds only the sparrows end up in trap
Amazing trap
I have eight bluebird boxes on my property that use to add 20 to 30 young bluebirds a season. However, in the last couple of years, the sparrows have taken over the boxes even though I have placed sparrow guards on the boxes. The worse thing was finding dead bluebirds in the boxes. It was impossible to control the sparrows. However, there is hope. Following your instructions I placed a trap out on Sunday; by Wednesday I have already caught 16 sparrows and not one native species. You have a great product. Thank you.
Beautiful Trap
Thanks, Blaine, the trap works beautifully and your instructions are wonderful. so far we’ve trapped a total of 11 birds. The dispatch instructions were very helpful as well.
400 plus per year
After ten years of service at an average of 400 plus sparrows per year, I need a new one. I love the trap and wish I could find one exclusively for starlings too.
